Last Day of Year 2008

Today is the last day of year 2008. For whatever sweet and bitter, it's all over. Hoping the brilliant & nice days in year 2009, forever blue sky, forever green earth.

The Old Corridor

The corridor has stood for more than a century, witnessing changes in time, but without much change on itself.

Raining Day and Night

It's a long long raining season. The wet day started since afternoon & continues until the night. Dinning in the rain, seeing hawkers hoping for more customers.

Story from the Buildings

Buildings at the Old Town would tell you the history of the city. Driving on one of the oldest street in Ipoh, Jalan Sultan Yusoff (Belfield Street), the HSBC building at left displays the architecture of British colonial age. The Asia Life Building on the right is a typical 1960's design while far ahead is the modern high rise building, Wisma Taiko, that represents the 1990's

Sunny Afternoon

A sunny afternoon. The Ipoh City Council Building is having a peaceful Sunday. However, the 100 Yen Shop beside it is flooded with customer looking for nice & creative Japanese low cost stuff

About 500 meters away, the 10-year abandoned high rise building project finally reaches its completion. From Syuen Tower, to Ipoh Tower until today's Tower Regency Hotel, the building has changed its name several times. Since the economy downturn in 1997, the building stood only on its skeleton until construction resumed on 2007

A Full Moon Night

Today is the mid of lunar month. A bright full moon appear on the sky. Tonight the Moon is at its closest distance to Earth in 15 years

After driving about an hour from Ipoh, I was having dinner at Milan Cafe, Ayer Tawar. The restaurant is simple, neat, tidy & clean, plus the friendly service & nice food. It will be my choice of dining in the future

Leave the crowd...

Today is Monday, and also a national holiday - Hari Raya Haji. Ipoh downtown is packed with people. Shops are crowded for the good & tasty food. The famous soya bean & "tao fu fa" shop in New Town seen with customer queue up... I only managed to get mine after 15 minutes...

Too congested in town. I choose to leave the town with my favorite soya bean & "tao fu fa" & go country side. In the cloudy day, driving to Kampung Gajah seemed relaxing...

Nice Blue Sky

This raining season has been prolonged for weeks. We can rarely see a nice blue sky like today. The St. John Church in the morning.

Parit Clock Tower

Parit is a small town about 30km from Ipoh, which located beside the Perak River. I was planning to have Hainan noodle as my lunch in Parit but the shop was closed. By the way, I managed to take a snap on the landmark of the town, the clock tower at the center of main road. It was built on 31 August 1957, the Independence Day of Federation of Malaya.

University Technology Petronas

Driving to work

This morning I choose a different route driving to work & pass by the iconic signboard of Ipoh most popular shopping complex. The sky is so clear after the whole night long rain fall.

Fraser Hill

A very nice & relaxing place to spend your holiday. This is The Smoke House of Fraser Hill. I enjoy so much the cool weather, scenic view & peaceful life here. It is so pleasure to have the very English style afternoon tea break while enjoying the breeze with the birds singing in the garden.

The view of Ipoh City from Ipoh Padang. This is quite a nice place for relaxing at night in Ipoh. Many choose to jog & exercise along the jogging track around the field. Children from families are enjoying at this huge open space.
